Vic 24H Winners

VICTORIAN 24 HOUR CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS

The Victorian 24 Hour Track Championship was first held in 1984 at the Box Hill Athletics Track in suburban Melbourne and has been contested annually ever since. In 1988, it was moved to the Harold Stevens Athletics Track in Coburg and it has been held there since then.

This event is open to both men and women and has a proud history of winners. In 1998 and 2004, women runners actually won the championship, illustrating that this is an event in which both sexes can compete in their own right. The championship record is held by Yiannis Kouros who ran 294.504 km in 1996, a world record at that time. He subsequently increased that world record to an astonishing 303.506 km in Adelaide in 1997.
